Mini-Adventure session at Big Meadows Lodge

I am happy to finally be sharing Courtney and Jacob’s summer mini-adventure engagement session at Big Meadows Lodge at Shenandoah National Park. It shows all the reasons to fall in love with Shenandoah National Park. I lived in Maryland for 6 years before moving to Virginia and FINALLY got the chance to visit the mountains. This was a huge moment for me because it showed me that anything that takes you out of your comfort zone and your everyday life is a great escape and should be done often. The views from Black Rock Overlook were incredible! It was so beautiful there, especially with all of the green trees surrounding us. On every side as we looked over at this amazing view of Shenandoah River & Big Meadows Lodge in front of us!

This couple loves the mountains, so they wanted to go on a mini adventure while visiting Virginia. They reached out to me and told me their idea of where they wanted to do their engagement session. So of course I said yes! We met at Big Meadows Lodge and ran up the .02-mile trail to Black Rock Overlook. It was a smaller than most overlooks. I tend to go to but there were two rocky areas we could sit on and admire the vastness of the valley below us! The wind helped cool us off too!

Why I am now a lover of Big Meadows Lodge for mini-adventure engagement sessions!

It was one of my favorite sessions because we got to explore the Shenandoah National Park together! It was only about ten minutes from where I live, so why not? We also were able to run across the street from the Big Meadows Store and run and play around in the large open fields that showed all of the amazing mountain views behind them. An area that I have seen and heard of, became such a gorgeous reality for me so happy that Jacob and Courtney were mini adventurers, just like me, that wanted something different and nothing to do with traditional.

Why having a little fun is so important for any photography session.

I love working with couples that are so fun and adventurous! It doesn’t have to be a 10-mile hike to be adventurous with me. I typically prefer to chill at about a 2-mile hike anyway. So, when I get couples who are right in my lane of being a semi-mini- adventurer. Oh yes, I am all about it and will help to make sure that your session! Elopement or engagement, is perfect and exactly what you want.

There’s never a time when you should sacrifice things that you want. Things that make you whole, things that make you happy. Having a photographer that knows your style, and life, to help you create the most magical day possible is what you want to look for. I am that photographer to many couples and can be for you as well. Don’t get into the “costing an arm and a leg” mentality. Photography is the one main aspect of your wedding that you will keep a forever. Make the investment and trust me as your photographer.
