On May 23, 2025, Maribel and Daniel tied the knot at The Barn at Edgewood, a stunning barn wedding venue in Virginia with mountain views and rustic charm. Nestled in Standardsville at 777 Beazley Road, The Barn at Edgewood is a crown jewel among Virginia wedding venues.
Built in 1902 as a working dairy barn, this structure was lovingly restored in 2018. Original hand-hewn beams and stone foundations were preserved while adding modern luxuries like cathedral windows framing Blue Ridge views. Its transformation honored Virginia’s agricultural roots while creating a dream venue for mountain-loving couples.
“The venue’s rolling pastures and wildflower meadows feel both grand and cozy. Like stepping into a Virginia landscape painting.”
While not a winery, Edgewood partners with local vineyards for curated wine pairings. Their signature “Barn Blend” sparkling rosé is a toast favorite! Fire pits and Adirondack chairs encourage guests to linger under starry skies.
Maribel and Daniel envisioned a day as vibrant as their love. They discovered me, an affordable wedding photographer in Virginia, while researching Virginia editorial wedding photography styles.
Their Spring Palette:
Bridesmaids bloomed in pastel gowns (lavender, mint, blush), while groomsmen anchored the palette in sharp black suits. Against the barn’s weathered wood, the colors sang.
First Dance Magic:
After heartfelt vows, they surprised guests with a choreographed waltz. Then, the dance floor exploded with joy, lasting until midnight.
As a fine art wedding photographer in Virginia, I thrive here because:
For luxury wedding photography near me seekers, this venue offers five star backdrops without five star prices.
If The Barn at Edgewood calls to you, visit their website. And if you desire an affordable fine art wedding photographer to capture your day? I’d love to help.

Estella initially reached out to me with dreams of eloping at Shenandoah National Park in Virginia. Life, however, had its own plans, and family situations led to a quick pivot—her heart was now set on Bar Harbor’s Acadia National Park elopement in Maine. The location was their all-time favorite, and I couldn’t have been more thrilled when they asked if I could travel to capture their day. Of course, I said yes—take me anywhere!
After locking in the date and arrangements, I arrived two days early. I spent the Friday before their Acadia National Park elopement exploring the breathtaking beauty of Cadillac Mountain and scouting the perfect spots for their ceremony and portraits. From the soaring ocean views to quiet nooks tucked between the cliffs, I wanted to ensure their day felt as magical as their love story.
Saturday morning kicked off with a heartfelt first look. Calvin and I met up first in the parking lot of Cadillac Mountain, and I got him perfectly positioned for the moment he would see Estella. When Estella arrived, glowing with excitement, she made her way down to a small, secluded nook where the ocean views created a stunning backdrop.
Looking out over the tranquil waters of Frenchman Bay (the iconic body of water visible from Acadia), the couple shared their private moment—just the two of them, surrounded by nature’s serenity. It was intimate, emotional, and an unforgettable way to start their elopement day.
From there, Estella, Calvin, and their closest friends and family—about 20 guests—made their way to a beautiful, accessible location. Estella had recently hurt her knee, so finding an easy walk was key, and thankfully, Acadia offered no shortage of accessible beauty. With the gentle breeze rolling off the ocean and the mountains rising around us, the couple exchanged their heartfelt vows.
After the ceremony, we captured family formals, filled with joy, love, and a little bit of laughter. Then, it was time for something extra special: a couples portrait session at Otter Cliffs, one of Acadia National Park’s most scenic coastal spots.
As the waves crashed below us and the light turned golden, Estella and Calvin soaked in their first moments as a married couple. Her dress flowed beautifully against the rugged backdrop, and I couldn’t take my eyes off the way the ocean reflected the magic of the day.
We spent about 30 minutes creating photos filled with fun, adventure, and love—portraits that told the story of not just their elopement, but the deep connection they shared.
Before we parted ways, we hugged, shared an emotional goodbye, and I reflected on how special it was to document such an incredible day for two people so clearly in love.
“Debbie came all the way from Virginia to Acadia National Park in Maine to shoot our elopement, and the photos are even more than we could’ve ever asked for! She was so professional and did an excellent job of helping us plan out the day to get the perfect shots. I felt so comfortable and beautiful throughout the entire experience, even though I don’t typically enjoy getting my photo taken. Debbie went above and beyond. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a thoughtful and talented photographer.”
If you’re considering an elopement at Acadia National Park, you already know it’s one of the most breathtaking places in Maine. On November 9, 2024, Hailey and Nathan celebrated their vow renewal at Chatham Manor, a breathtaking historic estate in Fredericksburg, Virginia. After years of marriage, a courthouse wedding in Texas, and countless moves as a military family, their love story came full circle in this timeless and picturesque location.
Chatham Manor, perched high on the banks of the Rappahannock River, is a treasure trove of American history. Built in 1771, the estate has witnessed pivotal moments in the nation’s past. It served as a Union headquarters and hospital during the Civil War, where thousands of soldiers were treated on its grounds. The scars of that time still linger, from bullet marks in the walls to haunting tales of those who walked its halls.
One of the manor’s most iconic features is its ancient Catalpa tree, planted long before the first shots of the Civil War. Today, it stands as a silent witness to centuries of history, offering shade and a sense of permanence to visitors exploring the estate. Chatham’s storied past, combined with its breathtaking views of Fredericksburg and the river below, makes it a uniquely meaningful location for a vow renewal.
Located in Fredericksburg, Virginia, Chatham Manor overlooks the tranquil waters of the Rappahannock River. This iconic river played a significant role in the city’s history, serving as a dividing line during Civil War battles. From the manor’s elevated position, you can see the river winding through the landscape, adding a serene backdrop to the estate’s rich historical charm—perfect for Chatham Manor gardens photography and breathtaking Chatham Manor sunset photos.
Just across the river lies historic downtown Fredericksburg, a vibrant area filled with cobblestone streets, colonial-era buildings, and bustling local shops. For couples seeking a romantic location, Virginia vow renewal locations like Chatham Manor offer both history and timeless beauty. While the city holds its historical roots close, it has transformed into a modern hub for dining, shopping, and arts. Visitors, including those looking for a Fredericksburg wedding photographer, can explore everything from battlefields and museums to charming cafes and galleries that showcase the city’s unique blend of past and present.”
Hailey and Nathan’s story began years ago with a simple courthouse wedding in Texas. As a military family, they’ve moved often, building a beautiful life together while adapting to the challenges of constant change. They eventually found themselves stationed at Fort Belvoir, where Hailey and I struck up a conversation about photography—my work as a Northern Virginia wedding photographer resonated with her vision for capturing life’s meaningful moments.
What began as a professional connection quickly grew into a friendship. Over two years, we worked together on various projects, and I was thrilled when Hailey finally decided it was time to plan her long-awaited Chatham Manor vow renewal with Nathan.
Their not-so-cold November vow renewal at Chatham Manor in Fredericksburg, Virginia, was a beautiful blend of intimate moments, laughter, and a few hiccups—including a last-minute babysitter cancellation (enter the kids). As their Virginia vow renewal photographer, I had the joy of witnessing Hailey and Nathan make the most of their two hours at this historic site, sharing heartfelt vows, posing for portraits amidst the Chatham Manor gardens, and soaking in the tranquil beauty of the surroundings. It was the perfect setting to celebrate their enduring love
As the sun set over this historic Fredericksburg estate, casting warm hues of orange and red across the sky, the couple reflected on their journey together. It was a perfect ending to a day filled with love, history, and quiet moments to cherish.

Lisa and Cordell’s wedding day began with an intimate first look on the mist-covered steps of The Stable. Adorned with lush greenery and florals, the scene was both romantic and serene. Keeping a respectful distance, I captured their quiet exchange of emotions, zooming in on their smiles, tears, and laughter as they prepared to walk down the aisle.
Inside The Stable, we gathered for wedding party portraits before the couple was tucked away for their grand entrance. The cozy atmosphere of the space, combined with the laughter of their closest friends, set the perfect tone for the ceremony.
As the ceremony began, the mist that had blanketed the vineyard all morning began to lift. Lisa and Cordell exchanged heartfelt vows surrounded by their loved ones, the soft light adding a dreamy quality to the moment.
While the mist lingered, making vineyard portraits challenging, it didn’t dampen the couple’s spirits. After family photos and a cozy indoor cocktail hour, Lisa and Cordell joined their guests on the dance floor, reveling in the joy of their union.
