Kalero Vineyard Wedding | Katelyn & John

January 13, 2022

Katelyn and John’s wedding day was a long time coming! They complimented each other greatly as katelyn suffered from anxiety, and John was her rock to keep her calm and to get her through life’s struggles. After rescheduling their wedding once already, they got the go ahead to move forward and selected Kalero Vineyard as the venue for their rustic vineyard wedding. Complete with the rolling hills and valleys of Shenandoah.

The wedding day started with Katelyn and her maids upstairs of their AirBnb. If this place had a name, I would list it. It was amazing. So many things to see and do. From hanging out by the fire pit, to going on nature trails. The overlook is amazing and it provides you a peak at the amazing wonders of the Shenandoah mountains.

Hair and makeup wrapped up, and the first looks started. Soon it was off to the vineyard to get married.

The rest of the day went off without a hitch. The purest form of love that I have ever seen in a long time.

Despite a few overcast clouds, they kissed and and celebrated every step of the way down the aisle. Gorgeous backlit golden hour photos commence and then, it was time to party!

Having your wedding at Kalero Vineyard would be a perfect option if you are looking for a rustic, mountain theme. Dress it up, or dress it down. Either way you decorate it, it will be perfectly unique and special to you.

Let me capture this moment for you one still moment at a time.

BEHIND THE LENS

Hi, I'm Debbie

A self proclaimed badass photographer

No elegant or amazing story to tell here. My life consisted of growing up in the military from the age of 2. Settling in North Carolina, and marrying a Navy Corpsman. Three kids later, and two masters degrees into a career in Special Education and Applied Behavior Analysis, I decided that it was finally time to pursue a lifelong dream of mine, photography.

I started out as wanting to become a Marine Biologist/Oceanographer, and working for National Geographic, swimming with the sharks! Choices made led me down a different path and led me to where I am today. Sitting here, at the computer, writing a mini novel about my life to you.

I started my business in 2019 realizing as my oldest son graduated high school that I missed photography, I missed the interaction I could have with others, and the different lives I was able to be a part of. So, I did as allo beginner photographers did. I dusted off my only old camera, and started using my friends and family as models. Charge next to nothing for sessions, and was able to purchase mentoring sessions, business courses, posing class, 1:1 workshops, and I have learned so much and have grown tremendously within my skill and knowledge. With the help of amazing photography mentors such as Katelyn James, Alina Thomas, Joy Michelle, Megan MacPhail, India Earl, Anni Graham, Jai Long, Maddie Mae (Adventure Instead), and many more, I have been able to create an experience for my couples that is comfortable, relaxed, and crafted specifically to their style and personality
